64-bit Desktop Computing Has Arrived with the New AMD Athlon 64 Processor
Markham, Ontario - Supercom is excited to announce a brand new era for Touch systems. The award-winning brand featuring the new AMD Athlon 64 is now available from Supercom to resellers across Canada. Now Touch Systems resellers can offer gaming and digital media enthusiasts all the advantages that come with the world’s first and only 64-bit desktop processors.
“Our powerful white box solutions can now offer the best of both worlds,” said Mrs. Florence Chow, senior product manager at Supercom. “Each system we build will harness great potential for the future, but still allow people to keep their current software. This will put many consumers at ease if they know they don’t have to put out a lot of money for new software when they upgrade. We’ve been building Touch for almost 15 years now and this truly is a great milestone in the system’s very positive history.”
The Athlon 64 processor will be available to all configurations of Touch Systems, including prebuilt systems that provide in-stock popular configurations ready for same-day delivery. With the ever growing popularity of small form factor (SFF) cases, Touch Media Center PCs also have the potential to carry AMD Athlon 64 processors in the near future.
The Athlon 64 processor is the world's most technically advanced processor, and as the future of PC computing, the AMD Athlon 64 is built on the established AMD64 architecture and offers simultaneous 32-bit and 64-bit application support while ensuring investment protection and lower total cost of ownership for both home and business users. The AMD Athlon 64 also features groundbreaking innovations like exclusive HyperTransportTM technology--for system bus speeds of up to an amazing 800MHz--and an integrated DDR memory controller to significantly boost the speed and performance of memory-intensive applications.
